The original Ibiza Beach Club, Bora Bora is located on the very centre of Playa Den Bossa beach, right behind the Jet Apartment complex. When it opens for business each morning, recognisable by beneath the iconic sign strung between two giant palm trees, a mass of blue and white sunbeds dotting the expanse of sand beside the sparkling turquoise water, a long empty bar and restaurant on the terrace and just a few beachgoers making the most of the early morning sun, it’s hard to believe that by sundown, Bora Bora turns into one of the craziest places on the island.
From late afternoon - 4.30pm in fact - resident DJs Oliver Lang, Alex Miles, Will Johnston and Heath Holme hit the decks, turning the beach into a day club with an upbeat, house-anthem flavoured soundtrack. Anything goes at Bora Bora and you can expect to see a mix of super tanned staff, the European jet-set, funny fancy dress, muscle marys, lily-white lager louts, freaks, weirdos and beautiful people alike all dancing - on the sand and on the terrace - until long after the sun has set.
In fact, when the sun goes down, Bora Bora heats up - when the sunbeds are packed away for the evening, dancers are herded onto the terrace, which is slowly but surely closed off with portable fences, becoming a dancefloor like no other, where tables become makeshift podiums, the bar is four deep just to get a beer and practically everyone is your new best friend.
The ideal place to get your dancing feet warmed up before heading to Space - which is only 100 metres further up the road - after midnight, Bora Bora even becomes a nightclub, with a cool, air-conditioned indoor area containing anyone with the stamina to keep going after the day in the sun until 6am every morning.![]()
