A trip to Ibiza would not be complete without experiencing the hustle and bustle of Ibiza’s famous port area. Kicking off your night with a few drinks in the port is practically mandatory in fact, as it’s the port where you’ll get to see the much talked about pre-party parades.
Watch in awe as the many parades snake their way through the tourists, along the front of the port before heading up to Calle De Virgen before heading to their respective clubs for the evening. Think scantily clad dancers, performance artists, drag queens and even the occasional animal, it’s ok to gawk - they’re totally used to it and in fact, revel in it! The parades tend to start around midnight, so it’s worth heading into town early in time to catch them.
The port is where you can pick up discounted club flyers and check out the thousands of club posters adorning the walls of each bar, in order to help you make your decision as to where you’ll end up that evening. Whether you choose to settle in at one bar and make it your base for the evening, or prefer to indulge in a spot of bar hopping so you can try out each and every bar, you’ll find the port packed full of public relation pros, all trying to lure you into their establishment for a drink and quite possibly to buy your club tickets too. It may seem a little intimidating at first - or enticing, depending on your point of view - but don’t let it scare you off as it’s all part of the experience.
Here we’ve compiled a list of our picks, from classic tourist destinations to little known local hangs, there’s something for everyone… now it’s up to you to find your own favourites.![]()
