The pirate theme has dominated Ibiza’s party scene for a few years now, however El Pirata can lay claim to being the originals - and the best. A favourite haunt of PR staff, club workers, DJs, dancers and bartenders along with seasoned island veterans and in-the-know tourists for a quality place to grab a slice of pizza, some healthy salad and a drink before - or after - another long night, El Pirata is easy to spot thanks to its trademark lipstick encrusted skull logo and skull and crossbones flags hanging from the balconies above.
With another café-style restaurant located in Ibiza Town and in 2008 branching out to include an all-new café in the new Ibiza Rocks Hotel, it’s fair to say that the reputation of this port classic precedes itself. It’s been called the best pizza on the island and is an ideal place to stop if you don’t want to miss any of the pre-party action in the port but need to refuel.
Of course it’s also a great place to get club tickets and have a casual, reasonably priced drink before hitting the clubs, or a great place to take a break if you’ve had a hard afternoon shopping in the back streets of the old town - El Pirata opens at 6pm, and continues serving until 4am so it’s really like our ‘old faithful’ - simple, reliable and always amazing.
INSIDER’S TIP: If you’re in a hurry, opt for the back entrance, where you can quickly order your food and not tussle with the crowds on the busy port entrance side.
