While the busy port may buzz almost 24 hours a day, the cobbled and paved streets existing behind it all are the heart of Ibiza Town. Packed with locals and curious tourists, the vibe is slightly more relaxed - with the feeling that you could spend all night here rather than race off to the next party!
Be sure to head down Calle De La Virgen, a gorgeous cobbled street home to many gay bars, quirky boutiques and funky restaurants. Don't bother going during the day - you'll feel as though you're in a deserted old town. This part of town only gets busy after about 10pm.
Plaza Del Parque is a social hotspot in Ibiza town - a pretty and oh-so-European town square of sorts, running parallel to Vara Del Rey and packed full of cafes, restaurants and bars.
A long time meeting place for in-the-know tourists and locals alike, by day you’ll find the sunny square packed full of the entire gamut of Ibiza society - tourists, promoters, artists, locals, DJs, hippies and even the odd beggar - oh, and there are plenty of kids and dogs running around too! You’ll see many a laptop perched on the tables taking advantage of the wi-fi most bars and cafes now offer. By night (or even before sunset) however, the computers are replaced with icy cold beers and glasses of rosé, as the bars get busier and more raucous with a pre and post dinner crowd.
One thing is for sure - you'll need more than one night to complete a bar crawl in these areas - there are simply too many to choose from!
