Lo Cura

We were a little hesitant to include Lo Cura in our list of favourite bars in Ibiza - simply because it’s so good we wanted to keep it all to ourselves! But then… logic prevailed and we figured it was our duty to share the love after all…

Every now and then, in the oft-confusing back streets of Ibiza town, a gem emerges. Lo Cura is that gem. A tiny bar in the heart of Ibiza town, you may hear it referred to occasionally as Dusi’s, in reference to the colourful and charming character of the same name who runs the show each night, ensuring Ibiza’s hotch potch of eclectic individuals are kept watered to say the very least!

With very little space indoors, Lo Cura can sometimes feel a little cramped - but as they say, we’re all friends here! Thankfully, for the claustrophobic (or those not partial to cigarette smoke - that smoking ban hasn’t quite reached Ibiza’s shores yet) there’s also a small outdoor seating area and ultra-attentive table service from Dusi and his co-horts David Phillips - who also doubles as resident DJ when he’s not busy at We Love Sundays and Wonderland at Eden - and the ever friendly and always smiling Juan, meaning you don’t need to wrestle your way into the busy bar if you don’t want to.

Lo Cura has long been known to support the very best DJs on the local scene, and you may occasionally see some pretty famous faces pop in for a surprise set when Dave isn’t on the decks and it’s a great talent spotting ground for promoters.

Open throughout winter, it’s the place where many an Ibizan friendship has been forged over a Hierbas, where many a hangover has been cultured and taking into consideration the name Lo Cura means ‘it cures’ probably many a hangover has also cured.

We’ll see you at the bar.

INSIDER’S TIP:
No matter how busy and debaucherous times may seem in the bar, these guys whip up the best tasting fresh cocktails on the island so don’t be shy in ordering up.
