Underground

Famous as the local’s favourite hang, the motto for this club is quite simple: ‘Not for everybody.’

Located centrally, right in the middle of the island at KM7 on the road from Ibiza to San Antonio, you simply take the San Rafael exit and turn left at the top then follow the well-lit path to the infamous illuminate ‘U’ sign, where you’ll be greeted by a finca-style building, with soft lighting, a gorgeous outdoor area complete with cactuses, water features and plenty of chillout seating, perfect for a balmy Ibiza summer night.

As the name suggests, expect to hear the best in local and underground sounds, from Ibiza’s very favourite local DJs including Don Juanito and Justin Field (one of our favourites, supplying the Underground with his very own flavour of eclectic Balearic beats and this year celebrating ten years of living on the island). Of course, there are always some very special invited guests, from System of Survival and Matthew Jonson to Rhadoo and Jo Mills making the most of one of the best sound systems on the island, you never know who you might find gracing the decks here.
What you are guaranteed to find is plenty of space to dance, two very easy to access bars (with low drink prices!) and even a tree growing in the middle of the room. It’s the place where workers, locals and very well educated visitors come together every night of the week to escape the madness and catch up with one another in a relaxed friendly environment - whether before, after or in place of a trip to the clubs!

If you want to know what’s on when, you’ll need to keep your eyes and ears peeled, chat to the right people as only limited promotions take place for Underground - you may see a few posters and flyers scattered throughout the coolest places in town but it won’t be everywhere - a tactic that’s worked well over the years to ensure Ibiza’s best kept secret remains just that!
