The Sunset Strip

The famous Ibiza sunset is one of the most iconic images of the island and the sunset strip, as the very tip of the edge of the west coast is dubbed, is where it all happens. Thankfully for us, every single day!

In 2007 the government invested millions of euros into building a brand new paseo - that’s boardwalk in Spanish - connecting the entire sunset strip, making it much safer to walk along compared to its previous inception and easier for the bars to manage their busy terraces!

Of course, the general premise that anyone can buy themselves a few beers in the supermarket then meander down to the rocks and sit and watch the sunset to the ambience of the resident DJ’s carefully constructed sundown sets remains - it’s just that you can’t walk through the busy bars to get to them. Fair enough huh? We can’t expect bar owners to welcome freeloaders with open arms when they’re only open from June to October.

So whether you prefer to book a table in the VIP sections, sit on the terrace of your bar of choice or simply grab a takeaway and take it down to the rocky shore, you’ll be in good company. Literally thousands of people gather on the sunset strip nightly to share the breathtaking views, ambient, chilled out music and electric atmosphere.

Out top tip? Get there no later than 7.30pm so you have enough time to score a good position!
