Bar Flotante

Sitting on the golden sands of Talamanca – literally, the white plastic tables and chairs are wedged right into the sand by the water’s edge – is the local’s much-loved hangout, Bar Flotante.

Having served its loyal clientele for over 30 years, Flotante’s place in the sunshine is not the only element that has added to the success of the venue – it’s also the combination the amazing home-style cooking and smiley-faced service.

With simple meals – think grilled chicken breast served with salad, Spanish omelette (but that’s tortilla Espanol if you order correctly!) and huge salads – it’s the ideal place to come and refuel while topping up your tan in the glorious sunshine. A word of warning – it’s very easy to get trapped into sitting here all day long, until coffees merge into beers and the afternoon becomes the early evening.

And we know it’s probably not very PC to say it, but it’s great fun to throw your leftovers to the huge fish swimming in the crystal clear water and watch them tussle over it…
