Set high up in the hills behind San Antonio and on the grounds (and indeed, in the building) of an ancient monastery is Sa Capella, one of the island’s most-loved restaurants and a favourite of many tourist, celebrity and visiting A-lister.
The gorgeous settings are just one part of the allure of Sa Capella – a huge, high-ceiling room, aglow with candles and an open terrace where you can bask in the balmy Ibiza summer nights, beneath trees that are hundreds of years old and brightly coloured flowers draping the walls.
But the main event and perhaps the reason why Sa Capella has stood the test of time (30 years in fact) is of course, the food. With many a specialty dish - including an unbelievable roast suckling pig you’ll need to make an early reservation for to ensure you don’t miss out – and an amazing wine cellar, and exceptional service to boot, Sa Capella could quite possibly be one of the best restaurants in the world, not just Ibiza!
WHAT TO ORDER: We can’t go past the Ox Steak, as much for the experience as the taste! A bed of boiling hot rock salt is brought direct to your table and you grill the fine slices of meat to your taste. De-lish!
